Cathy and Harpers Ferry

July 1
I have had such a great day with Cathy in Harpers Ferry! We took a quick tour of the historic town, stopped in Charles Town for a burger and some groceries. We really enjoyed talking and being together – she is the best!!

I am off and walking in the morning. I will quickly hike over a bridge spanning the Potomac River and enter the state of Maryland.

So happy for you, Dave. What a treasure you have in Cathy, your precious bride!

    • This has been such a special time. It is most likely be the last visit until I return from Maine! She is such an incredible lady and totally supportive of my hike – a treasure indeed!

Greeting Dr D from the Fontana Village Lodge. I have hiked now over 204 miles and ready to enter into the GSMNP! I have very much enjoyed reading your journal entries. Harpers Ferry is one of my favorite trail towns on the AT and to have Cathy there with you must have been priceless! The best to you as you enter into the next phase of the trail. The Pennsylvania rocks are just a tool in preparing you for the northeast section. I can’t wait till you get there! The Presidential Range and the Green and White Mountains are beyond words. What excitement awaits you!

    • Princess- I really enjoyed Doah VA and hiking through the Shenandoah Valley. The GSMNP was such a great experience – except for one rainy day, the weather was perfect and the views were spectacular! I pray your time will be beautiful as well.
